Calem Velhotes Special Reserve is a Port wine aged in oak casks for an average of 7 years, in which the flavours of ripe red fruits evolved into notes of caramelized dried fruit alongside delicious notes of vanilla, spices and jams. It is a young Port wine, fresh and polished acidity.

Winemaking:
Calem Velhotes Special Reserve is a Port wine produced with autochthonous red grapes of old vines from the Douro wine region. The wine was produced by the classical Porto wine method were the grapes that were foot trodden in granitic Lagares and the fermentation took place at controlled temperature with a pre-maceration. When the wort was reached the desired sweetness value, the fermentation was interrupted by the addition of brandy, and then the wine was aged in French oak barrels until bottled for an average period of 7 years.

Calem Velhotes Special Reserve is a young Port wine, evolved, elegant and highlighted by notes of caramelized red fruits, vanilla and roasted almonds. It is fresh, with a dry character and very soft acidity.
