Fonseca Tawny Port is a rich, well structured, round and full bodied wine. It shows some attractive almond, nutmeg and marmalade flavours. At the end, a more fruity character emerges along with some light acidity.
Winemaking:
Fonseca has the tradition of not forgetting to use in this Fonseca Tawny Port a great reserve wine with great concentration and intensity.The wines ages, in average, three years in small barrels of French oak in the cellars of Fonseca in Vila Nova de Gaia. As the ageing of the wines inside the wood barrel increase, it is the loss of the red colour evolving into the Tawny colour, while losing the deposit in the barrel. The angels' quota (this is the loss of wine by evaporation inside the barrel) contributes to the oxidation process by which the qualities of the wine fruits gradually decrease and their characteristics of nuts are acquired. After three years of ageing, the wines are then blended a few months before bottling for balance and harmony.

Tasting Notes:
Fonseca Tawny Port shows a red colour with brick hues. It has a fragrant bouquet displays aromas of apricot and plum with mellow undertones of butterscotch and spice. His texture is rich with delicious flavours finished by an attractive crisp acidity.
Store and Serve Advice:
Serve temperature 12-15°C.
