Colheita Port 1974 Real Companhia Velha has a wonderful golden character, featuring several woody flavours from the long barrel ageing while keeping a surprising amount of fruit. The spirit and the alcohol are almost irrelevant in this gorgeous wine that is absolutely rare.
Winemaking:
Colheita Port 1974 Real Companhia Velha was produced by the traditional Porto wine method. This is a wine of an exceptional quality, rare, from a single harvest. It maturated in wood, for over 40 years, although, Colheitas Port wine never are less than 7 years of ageing on wood casks.
Grape Varieties:
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca.
Tasting Notes:
Colheita Port 1974 Real Companhia Velha went through years ageing in old oak barrels and acquired a genuine and distinct wood aroma. It gained a reddish-brown colour, aromas of exotic woods and nuts.
Store and Serve Advice:
Serving temperature at 15ºC-16ºC.
