Colheita Port 1980 Messias is an opulent, ripe, sweet and very concentrated Aged Tawny Port wine, with wonderful old wood flavours with raisins and prunes. It has an intense acidity that is a perfect counterpoint to its mature fruits. It has a fantastique and lingering ending.
Winemaking:
Colheita Port 1980 Messias was produced by the traditional Porto wine method. This is a wine of an exceptional quality, from a single harvest. It maturated in wood, for over 30 years, although, Colheitas Port wine never are less than 7 years of ageing on wood casks.
Grape Varieties:
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Tinta Barroca.
Tasting Notes:
Colheita Port 1980 Messias is a very balanced wine, fresh with ripe marmalade, raisin and old wood flavours. It has plenty of ripe and sweet fruits that is contrasted with its still-fresh acidity. It has a wonderful ending.
Store and Serve Advice:
Serving temperature at 15ºC-16ºC.
