Maynards Colheita Tawny 1935 Port is a unique and rare example for a great old Port wine which has preserved all freshness and intensity of aromas, suggesting flavors of apricots, raisins, orange marmalade, and cinnamon-baked quinces. The wine is elegant, complex and of an exemplary citric acidity.
Winemaking:
Maynards Colheita Tawny 1935 Port was produced by the traditional Porto wine method. This is a wine of exceptional quality, from a single harvest. It maturated in wood, for over 80 years, although, Colheitas Port wine never are less than 7 years of ageing in wood casks.
Grape Varieties:
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Sousão, Tinta Amarela, Tinto Cão.
Tasting Notes:
Maynards Colheita Tawny 1935 Por is a wine of complex and rich tannins and aromas due to the ageing of wine in oak barrels for over 80 years and to the structure that marked the classic year of 1935 in the Douro. It,s a wine full of citric aromas, suggesting baked quinces, caramelized orange peel, raisins and baked apricots with cinnamon. It ends on a magnificent citric acidity seasoned by spices and nuts.
