Maynards Colheita Tawny 1950 Port is a Port wine that shines with the complex and intense aromas of caramelized citrus, plum jam, baked quinces, vanilla, and spices. It is a dense, rich and opulent wine and ends soon with an acidity of citrus jam.
Winemaking:
Maynards Colheita Tawny 1950 Port was produced by the traditional Porto wine method. This is a wine of exceptional quality, from a single harvest. It maturated in wood, for over 70 years, although, Colheitas Port wine never are less than 7 years of ageing in wood casks.
Grape Varieties:
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Sousão, Tinta Amarela, Tinto Cão.
Tasting Notes:
Maynards Colheita Tawny 1950 Port is a fantastic Port wine, with a perfect balance between acidity, confit citrus aromas, nuts, and spices. It is a unique, odd wine, clearly evidenced by the almost 70 years of aging in French oak barrels.
