Athayde Grande Escolha is an extraordinary red wine from the Alentejo wine region. It presents itself with a vigorous, robust and powerful structure, with notes of black and red fruit well present and very well integrated with notes of slightly smoked spices and very elegant acidity.
Winemaking:
Athayde Grande Escolha is a red wine produced with red grapes of Alicante Bouschet Touriga Nacional and Syrah planted in the Alentejo region. The wine was subjected to a cold maceration process for 7 days where it was continuously and carefully reassembled. After maceration, the wine fermented in stainless steel vats for 21 days at controlled temperatures. It was later transferred to new French oak barrels where it aged for 18 months prior to being bottled.

Tasting Notes:
Athayde Grande Escolha is an elegant red wine with smooth and robust tannins, flanked by intense aromas of very ripe black fruits and nuances of wild red fruits. Presents notes of spices, vanilla and smoky aromas along with very smooth acidity.
Store and Serve Advice:
Store at a temperature of 18°C. Serve at a temperature between 15ºC and 18ºC.
