The grapes harvested by hand for the Barca Velha wine were vinified by separate grape varieties were chosen in the vineyard and on arrival at the Quinta da Leda winery. After the destemming followed by a gentle crushing, the alcoholic fermentation occurred in stainless steel vats. During this period, intense reassembly occurred at controlled temperatures of 26 ° C. Followed by a prolonged maceration with the skins in order to extract the aromas. Finally, and in the precise moment dictated by each Breed of grapes, the wine was stored and the wort pressed. The wines resulting from the pressing were separated from the bagasse. At the end of the maceration and the final fermentations, the wines were aged for about 16 months in French oak barrels. The final batch was made from a continuous selection of the best wines. In order to preserve its supreme quality, Barca Velha 2008 has been bottled without previous treatment and therefore it is natural that a deposit is developed.

Its supreme quality is expressed through fresh red fruit flavors accompanied by spicy and mild notes. It has a long and complex finish, with delicacy and remarkable structure.
Store and Serve Advices:
Although it is ready to be consumed, once launched in the market, Barca Velha 2008 has a potential shelf-life of more than 15 years and a positive evolution in the bottle. The wine should be carefully decanted to separate its natural deposit. Serve between 16ºC and 18ºC.
Deep ruby with purple edges colour. Spicy red berry fruits. Elegant palate showing youthful fruit, fine tannins with good balancing acidity on the finish.
Pêra Doce Reserva is an elegant and fruity red wine from the Alentejo region. It presents a fruity aromatic character with slight floral scents, balsamic notes, spices and ripe and round tannins. It is a fresh and mineral red wine with balanced acidity.
Quinta do Carqueijal is a refined, polished and fruity red wine from the Douro region. It is a red wine with an open aromatic bouquet, with aromas of good ripe fruits, notes of vanilla and rosemary notes. It is a fresh wine, medium body and with good acidity.
Azul Portugal Alentejo Reserva is a complex and fruity red wine from the Alentejo region. Dominated by ripe black fruit aromas, such as blackberries, plums and dark cherries, hints of dark chocolate, everything beautifully integrated into balsâmic notes and good wood flavours. It features round tannins and a fantastic acidity.
Herdade da Servas Alfrocheiro is a round, elegant and intensely aromatic red wine. It displays an open bouquet, displaying notes of ripe red fruits, floral fragrances and balsamic notes. It presents velvety tannins, silky texture, notes of dry tobacco leaf, mineral nuances and polished acidity.
Chryseia 2013 it's a powerful, concentrated wine. It has a fine and complex nose, combining the floral character of the Touriga Nacional with fruity notes of black currants and black cherries as well as a hint of toasty bacon. It has a superb concentration with great power whilst also elegant, with a supple and long finish, leaving a lingering aftertaste.
