Tapada do Chaves Reserva is a full-bodied red wine from Alentejo. His dark garnet colour reveals high concentrated red fruits that stand out all it's complex aromas of wild berries red and black, with a presence in the wood where it aged. It has a very good balance between the round and soft tannins and a lingering freshness in the end.

Tapada do Chaves winery stands as a patrimony, standing on the slope of the Serra de São Mamede, near the town of Portalegre, in the highlands of the Alentejo. It is an emblematic place, is under a granite massif and at a generous altitude that allows the slow and full maturation of the grapes, which reflects in very pure aromas in the wines and a unique freshness for the red wines and white wines of the region. The vines are aged between 15 and over 85 years and are planted with many varieties: Trincadeira, Aragonez and Castelão, among the paints, and Fernão Pires, Arinto, Alva and Tamarez in the white cast. The Tapada do Chaves Reserva red and white wines are old acquaintances of Portuguese wine lovers, but because of their very limited production, they have never become popular. They gained fame in a restricted circle of enophiles in love with classics and great discoveries. To date, the Tapada do Chaves Reserva Red Wine is produced according to the traditional method, it still matures in Portuguese oak barrels.
Winemaking:
Tapada do Chaves Reserva Red Wine was vinified by manually grape's picking, followed by de-stemming, and soft crushing of the grapes, with the solids transported to, open, wooden barrels. The fermentation lasted about 25 days along with a prolonged maceration, at controlled temperatures. The wine remained in new Portuguese oak barrels for 15 months and 12 months in bottle before launched in the market.

Tasting Notes:
Tapada do Chaves Reserva has an intense red color. It is a very elegant wine, a classic Portuguese red wine at its best with very complex aromas, dominating black and red fruits, exotic woods, earth, sweet floral notes and vanilla notes. It reveals fine tannins with a lasting freshness.
Store and Serve Advice:
Storage Lying down at a temperature of 15°C. Serve at a temperature of 16°C to 18ºC.
Light in colour, with shades of violet. Very fresh aromas with notes of spices and floral fragrances. Deep and complex, with an intense mineral profile. In the mouth, it is harmonious, with a good balance. The tannins are fine and delicate with a structure of medium and mineral freshness.
Herdade de S. Miguel is an elegant, aromatic, and clear red wine from the Alentejo wine region. It presents delicious aromas of ripe red fruits, delicate floral notes, and balsamic nuances. It has a medium body, sweet and ripe tannins and delicate acidity.
Pacheca Premium is a round, balanced red wine with prominent aromas of ripe black fruits within its aromatic bouquet. It displays notes of black plums and blackberries, hints of vanilla and nutmeg, along with very delicate acidity.
Lua Cheia em Vinhas Velhas is a very elegant Douro red wine with very mature and round tannins, fruity aromas and a freshness which is backed up into the flavours of ripe and succulent black fruits.
Quinta dos Frades Vinhas Velhas Grande Reserva is a red wine of great quality and of enormous aromatic intensity. It is dark red in colour, with intense aromas of ripe black fruits and notes of spices and balsamic nuances. It is a full-bodied, fresh red wine, with imposing tannins and highly polished acidity.
Sao Domingos Garrafeira is an elegant red wine from the region of Bairrada, tamed by the time it has passed inside the bottle. Of very subtle red fruits aromas, it stands out the aromas of cocoa, vanilla, and wood barrel. It is characterized by round tannins with a very elegant acidity and a light body.
