Niepoort Tawny Dee has a beautiful brick red colour. It presents delicates nutty aromas and a hint of dried fruits. On the palate is very well balanced with a youthful fruity, luscious character, which integrates well with the soft spirit in his long ending.
Winemaking:
Niepoort Tawny Dee was born with his twin brother Niepoort Ruby Dum. These wines originates from low yielding old vineyards in the Cima Corgo Region of the Douro Valley. The grapes are predominantly trodden in Lagares, prior to ageing in large wooden vats at the lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia and bottled with an average age of 5 years.
Grape Varieties:
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Roriz.
Tasting Notes:
Niepoort Tawny Dee has great wisdom and subtleness through ageing in small old oak casks exhibiting discrete characters of dried fruits.
Store and Serve Advice:
Store the bottle horizontally in a dark place with constant temperature, ideally between 12ºC and 15ºC.
