Niepoort Pinot Noir is a red wine from the Douro that takes on a subtle, delicate and very elegant profile. It presents notes of wild red fruits, floral bouquet, notes of currants and cranberries and vibrant herbaceous notes. It has very polished and refined tannins, polished balsamic notes and very structured acidity.
Winemaking:
Niepoort Pinot Noir is a red wine produced with red grapes of Pinot Noir planted from organic agriculture in the Douro wine region. After the grapes were fully destemmed, the wort was subjected to a long maceration. Fermentation took place in granite Lagares at controlled temperatures. The wine was then transferred to French oak barrels, where it remained in contact with fine lees for 11 months, before being bottled.
