Niepoort Ruby Dum has a dark ruby colour with a fresh vibrant aroma of dark fruits. It's a warm wine, with the acidity balanced by the red fruits and blackberry. In the palate has an extraordinary mineral character revealing all his youthfully character with good extract and great balance.
Winemaking:
Niepoort Ruby Dum was born with his twin brother Niepoort Tawny Dee. These wines originates from low yielding old vineyards in the Cima Corgo Region of the Douro Valley. The grapes are predominantly trodden in Lagares, prior to ageing in large wooden vats at the lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia and bottled with an average age of 3 years.
Grape Varieties:
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinto Cão, Tinta Francisca, Tinta Amarela, Sousão, Tinta Roriz.
Tasting Notes:
Niepoort Ruby Dum retains its youthful, strong character, dominated by red cherries and plums with great freshness from ageing in large wooden vats in the cool cellars of Vila Nova de Gaia.
Store and Serve Advice:
Store the bottle horizontally in a dark place with constant temperature, ideally between 12ºC and 15ºC.
