Dona Ermelinda red wine Reserva shows a dark purple colour, almost opaque. It presents reminiscent aromas of dark fruit, spices and smoke, and hints of jam due to the lengthy period of maturation. It's a dense red wine, full on the palate, and well structured. It has round tannins but well presents and well integrated. It has an extremely pleasant finish, long-lasting and persistent.
Winemaking:
Dona Ermelinda red wine Reserva is produced from grapes from vines over 50 years old of the Castelão variety and younger vineyards of Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties. The fermentation occurred in stainless steel tanks at temperature controlled vats, followed by 20 days period of extended maceration. It aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, followed by a further 8 months in the bottle.

Tasting Notes:
Dona Ermelinda red wine Reserva is a rich, very ripe wine. It has soft tannins and generous texture, it is full-bodied and packed with black fruit. It is soft and low in acidity and very pleasant to drink.
Store and Serve Advice:
Store in a cool place (15ºC). Serve at 16ºC-18ºC.
