Winemaking:
Iron Maiden Darkest is a red wine produced from the red grapes of Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Touriga Franca, and Touriga Nacional, which are autochthonous varieties from the Douro wine region. After partial destemming, and pressing, the wine was macerated with the skins prior to being transferred to stainless steel vats where the fermentation process took place. After the fermentation process, 10% of the batch was transferred to French oak barrels used for ageing Oporto wines, where it was subjected to regular stirring for 12 months prior to being bottled.

Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional.
