Vintage is an excellent quality wine made up of one single harvest. It is considered the king of Port wines, representing only a small percentage of the total production of Port.
It is bottled between the 1st July of the second year and the 31st December of the third year after harvesting. Although it can be immediately consumed, it is usually kept in ageing cellars for a period that can last up to 40 years. It is a very dark, full bodied red wine that becomes softer after ageing in bottle. Single-Quinta is a wine that undergoes the same production process as a vintage, but comes from a single farm (big companies considered that the year was not enough to qualify a wine as vintage).
In Portugal, IVDP (Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e Porto – Port and Douro Wines Institute) is the entity responsible for recognising and classifying Port wines as “vintage”.

Graham's 1983 Vintage is a great Port with solid structure, rich and intense. It is a big, ripe wine, very raisiny, with cinnamon and dark berries flavours give a purity and a sweet acidity. It is very accessible, with all the elements well in place balanced by a long, lingering dark aftertaste.
Graham's Vintage Port 2011 has a dark-purple colour. It's rich, deliciously sweet and perfumed. It has powerful plum fruit flavours very well balanced with its solid and concentrated tannins. His sweet acidity is highlighted at the end that gives a magnificent ending.
Graham's 1985 Vintage is a great Port packed with solid, structured, rich and intense black fruit flavors. Its tannins show considerable aging potential. It is a big, ripe wine, balanced by a long, lingering dark aftertaste.
Fonseca Vintage Port 2011 a powerful, rich wine, opulent in its wild berry fruits and sweet tannins. The structure is majestic, offering a smooth texture as well as a dry core. With its weight, density and dark, final character, this is a perfect Vintage Port wine.
Fonseca Vintage Port 2000 is a hugely rich wine, very dense with excellently integrated firm tannins and a range of complex flavours, from nuts and berry fruits to full frontal ripeness. There is some dryness at the end.
Duorum Vintage Port 2011 is powerful, ripe and dense. It has a solid texture with firm tannins interwoven in the generous fruit character which is packed with ripe plum and ripe berry flavours. It has a sedutct acidity that stands out with the wine's sweetness at the ending.
Duorum Vintage Port 2007 is intense and ripe. It has a dry core with firm tannins packed with black fruit as blueberries and black cherries. It has a solid structure and a perfect freshness providing an outstanding ending.
