José de Sousa Mayor is an intense and rich red wine from the region of Alentejo that presents a lot of complexity and freshness. It combines intense notes of ripe black fruit aromas with fragrances of mint, basil, vanilla, and spices. It is an opulent wine with imposing tannins and great acidity.
Winemaking:
Jose de Sousa Mayor is a red wine produced with red grape's varieties of Grand Noir, Trincadeira, and Aragonêz from the region of Alentejo. 30% of the batch is fermented in clay amphora in contact with the skins, the rest of the batch is fermented into stone's Lagares. The wine was transferred, after the fermentation process, to French oak barrels where it stayed for 9 months, prior to being bottled.

Tasting Notes:
Jose de Sousa Mayor is a rich, dense, super concentrated red wine from the Alentejo Region dominated by ripe dark fruit aromas, ripe fruit fragrances, powerful and round tannins and a great acidity.
Store and Serve Advice:
Store at a temperature of 18°C. Serve at a temperature between 10ºC and 12ºC.
